David Choong Lee is a Professor of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. Born in 1966 in Seoul, Korea, Lee moved to the USA in 1993 to pursue figurative art before going on to explore mixed media, sculpture and graphic design. His diverse set of influences include Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Sukdo and contemporary underground music. Lee’s distinctive style is a combination of graffiti, collage and graphic elements combined with the effect of his skill in classical realism.
Lee’s work has been displayed at many San Francisco venues including 111 Minna Gallery, Bucheon Gallery, Culture Cache Gallery, Levi’s and Google. He also also published a number of art books including “God Made Dirt, and Dirt Don’t Hurt” and “4 Words.” Lee lives in San Francisco, CA and teaches Figurative Art at the Academy of Art University.
